Second Essay Topic Proposal

For my second paper I would like to focus on Whitaker Chambers as a resilient historical victim of totalitarianism. I feel as though there is a good deal of information available regarding Whitaker Chambers, specifically relating to the Alger Hiss case. I think my three subheadings would be: Chambers’ early life, how he got involved, and how he was set up to be a victim; How Chambers tried to get out of Communism, and how be became a victim/targeted for that; and lastly, the Alger Hiss case, how Chambers was targeted during the case, and how that made him a victim of totalitarianism.
